GRADE 4’s SCIENCE EXPO
GRADE 3’s EXPLORING EGYPT
The Grade 3’s theme for this term is Egypt. The boys had to make pom-poms to create an Egyptian cat and also put a Pharaoh puzzle together. They enjoyed it very much.
GRADE 4’s MAKING ORIGAMI’S

Boys learnt about the traditional Japanese art of folding paper into a variety of decorative or representational forms. The boys made paper hats and boats.
GRADE 2’s BUILDING CASTLES

The Grade 2 boys have been learning all about Medieval Castles. They were fascinated to learn that Castles were built primarily as a fortress to protect important people. Every feature of a castle had a purpose to protect. Arrow slits, battlements, the portcullis and mote are just a few of these features! Interestingly it was with the invention of gun powder that castles lost their status. The giant walls were no match for cannons and many castles were abandoned or fell in to disrepair, often being dismantled for building materials. Together the boys designed their own castles, first deciding on what features they wanted to include and then allocating tasks to each member of the group to build, using only recycled materials.
GRADE 0’s LEARNING ABOUT THE RIDGE

The Grade 0 boys have had a great time learning about The Ridge School this week and making a special Ridge School badge. The boys also had an opportunity to experience a virtual tour of Mr Stanley’s office.
